Dr Jim Eccles


Dr. Jim Eccles qualified in 1975 at Manchester University. After general medical training, he specialised in the Medicine of Older People, and carried out research into the neuropsychological tests that are used to examine stroke patients. While working in Manchester, he helped to organise the local Stroke Club, and developed an interest in caring for patients with stroke. He was appointed as a Consultant in Leeds in 1984, and is now the NSF Clinical Champion for Older People in Leeds. He has studied medical ethics at Leeds University, where he now teaches medical ethics to doctors and nurses. He works with Dr. Dudley on ward 34 at St. James's, and on N ward at Seacroft Hospital.
