Dr John Bamford
Consultant Neurologist and Cerebrovascular Physician, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Senior Clinical Lecturer, University of Leeds.
Appointed in 1990 to the post
which was part-funded by the Stroke Association for 5 years.
In addition to looking after younger patients with stroke
who are admitted to St James's University Hospital, Dr Bamford
runs a rapid access TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attack) outpatient
clinic with the help of a Stroke Specialist Nurse, Sally Blundell.
Dr Bamford has extensive local, national and international
research interests connected with stroke. He is currently
the secretary of the British Association of Stroke Physicians.
