Who are we?
Dr John Bamford

Consultant Neurologist and Cerebrovascular Physician, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Senior Clinical Lecturer, University of Leeds.

Appointed in 1990 to the post which was part-funded by the Stroke Association for 5 years. In addition to looking after younger patients with stroke who are admitted to St James's University Hospital, Dr Bamford runs a rapid access TIA (Transient Ischaemic Attack) outpatient clinic with the help of a Stroke Specialist Nurse, Sally Blundell.
Dr Bamford has extensive local, national and international research interests connected with stroke. He is currently the secretary of the British Association of Stroke Physicians.
